Allied Electronics is one of the nation’s largest distributors of semiconductors, electronic components, and embedded solutions. Our products are sourced from hundreds of manufacturers worldwide supporting thousands of part numbers which are organized into 23 product groups. With our strong supplier relationships and volume purchasing power, we are committed to providing customers with competitive pricing on high-quality products.
Allied Electronics has developed a comprehensive training program for all sales personnel at every level in the organization. Salespeople receive continuous reinforcement by attending seminars through our national training division (Allied Teleseminars), monthly conference calls with branch managers, daily collaboration with their District Sales Managers or designated Operations Manager, weekly meetings with their Branch General Manager / Executive Vice President or designated Operations Manager, as well as daily interaction with their branch staff.
To ensure our salespeople are equipped to work effectively with engineers, Allied Electronics provides extensive training on technical aspects of products and applications through seminars by manufacturers for all sales personnel (Technology Training Seminars) as well as separate advanced courses which are targeted at specific product groups. All training is under the direction of our National Training Division which holds over 500 seminars per year in locations across North America; Allied Electronics has an outstanding reputation among semiconductor manufacturers, component suppliers, universities, and colleges for providing quality training programs.
The majority of the Company’s U.S. field sales staff having received formal education or significant experience in electronics must possess either a 4-year college degree or 3 years of experience in the industry before being considered for a position. Field Sales Managers and above must hold at least an Associates Degree.
Our recruiting process is managed by our national training division which has developed an extensive network of contacts with local colleges and universities as well as industry contacts to find the most qualified candidates.
Allied Electronics emphasizes the development of each individual through ongoing training, mentoring, cross-training, long-term job assignments, promotions from within the organization, stock ownership plan participation, profit-sharing programs, and other incentive plans. Each quarter branch staff members are given an opportunity to submit ideas to improve our operations or address issues which are then reviewed by management. Suggestions that are implemented generate cash awards which typically range between $100 – $500 per idea depending on the level of the employee.
Allied Electronics has one of the highest retention rates in the industry, maintaining an average field sales employee tenure of over 10 years.
Benefits are provided to all full-time employees which include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability coverage as well as 401k plan with company match, flexible spending account, periodic profit sharing, tuition reimbursement program, and much more. Medical benefits are currently available to all domestic partners where legal. Pursuant to The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Allied Electronics provides up to 12 weeks of paid leave for eligible employees during any 12 month period.
We provide our employees with opportunities for professional growth through training programs offered by Allied Teleseminars, management courses offered by the University of Dallas, participation on Allied Electronics’ Leadership Teams, tuition reimbursement program, or attendance at specialized seminars. We are committed to providing a safe work environment through the use of ergonomic evaluations and tools for positioning computer monitors, telephone headsets, and more.
Our employees are given an opportunity to participate in special projects around company facilities where they can develop additional skills which can be applied directly to the business needs of the Company.
At Allied Electronics, we believe it is important for our management team to show support for our field sales force, so each year new managers spend one month “on the road” selling products with their newly reporting salespeople. We understand that our growth depends on hiring quality people who have great technical skills and a positive can-do attitude. With this in mind, we place significant emphasis on the recruiting process to ensure that Allied Electronics’ future is as bright as our past.
