Hooters Uniform

The Hooters Management Corporation is deeply committed to the belief that strong, positive images throughout all aspects of our operation are critical to achieving this goal. The standard of conduct outlined in the code is designed to ensure that every Hooters Girl reflects the essence of the creed, which is dedicated to serving great food in a fun and exciting atmosphere.

Hooters Girls provide exceptional service with an attractive appearance that includes wearing her company’s selected uniform while performing all job responsibilities. Her responsibilities include presenting a clean, well-groomed image consistent with widely accepted community standards. Each Hooters Girl is responsible for maintaining high standards of a personal appearance by adhering to this dress policy as it may be amended from time to time.

The following requirements represent the minimum standards of dress while working in a Hooters Restaurant environment or representing the brand in any other manner.

1) Stockings are required to be worn with mid-thigh length shorts, skirts, skorts, and dresses. Stockings must either be nude pantyhose or full-fashioned stockings (no fishnets). Fishnet stockings and opaque black tights are prohibited. No exceptions – these will not be permitted under any circumstances. No bare feet allowed – shoes and boots must be worn at all times (heels should be between 1″ – 3″).

2) Shoes that show the soles of the feet such as open-toe high heels/platforms or open-back sandals are NOT permitted for foodservice usage (i.e., bartending). CLEAR rubber-soled athletic shoes are the only shoes that may be worn on the FOOD SIDE (when working behind the bar, wait for station, serving line at buffets, etc.). Flip flops are not considered “athletic shoes”. Athletic sandals with backs up to 2 inches high and/or straps of any kind around or through toes will NOT be permitted for foodservice usage.

3) All tops must be Hooters Girl tees, tanks, or similar style restricted to solid colors ONLY (no logos).

4) No sleeveless attire is allowed for food service work (exceptions made at Management discretion on extremely hot days).

5) Hooters Girl Tees/Tanks must be body-hugging and mid-thigh length or longer. The neckline of the shirt must meet high standards at all times. Please refer to these guidelines:

a) Boat necks are allowed, but not excessively deep v-necklines b) Crewnecks are NOT permitted c) Collars & mock turtlenecks ARE permitted

6) No “wife beaters” or tank tops with inappropriate messages in any language will be allowed in a Hooters restaurant.

7) All shorts/skirts/dresses may only be fingertip length in the back (no higher than 4 inches from the top of buttocks). Shorts should sit low on hips and closer to the natural waist when standing upright – no cut-offs! Skirts/dresses should be a reasonable length for comfortable movement while working behind the bar, serving line at buffets, etc.

8) No hats/caps/sleeves allowed unless it is a uniform sun visor or hat that matches your assigned Hooters Girl tank top.

9) No jeans or denim of any kind, including jean shorts. Denim skirts are not permitted.

10) Clothing must cover undergarments at all times even when wet from rain, water sports, spilled drinks, etc. A wrap, sarong, or coordinating Hooters tank top must be worn when weather prohibits wearing appropriate attire (i.e., swimsuit in public). Management reserves the right to determine if clothing has been appropriately changed when entering kitchen areas and/or outside areas of a restaurant.

11) no visible tattoos or body art is allowed while wearing the Hooters Girl uniform – this includes inner lip/chin tattoos and all earrings must be removed for work. This also includes accessories such as bandanas, bracelets, watches, etc. that may fall off the wrist onto the bar floor, etc., as food might be served on those surfaces.

12) All piercings (other than ears) must be removed before reporting to work. Ears are not considered piercing under this standard. Ears MAY NOT have any additional ornamentation attached whatsoever (i.e., studs, diamonds). If dangling earrings become a nuisance due to misconstrued signals given off by guests or management, they will NOT be allowed to remain in place.

13) No chewing gum is allowed while working behind the bar or serving food/beverages.

14) Tattoos that are offensive or profane in nature are not permitted. This includes tattoos on the back and hands/wrists (if tattoos can be seen by guests walking around it must be covered at all times). Any tattoos deemed inappropriate must be covered with a bandage until either Hooters approved clothing covers it OR you have left work for the day.

15) no visible tattoos or body art is allowed while wearing the Hooters Girl uniform – this includes inner lip/chin tattoos and all earrings must be removed for work.
